Welcome to West Berkshire Gundog Club
At West Berkshire Gundog Club, our aim is simple: to make dog training fun for both you and your dog.
Whether you’re looking for a well-behaved companion, a reliable shooting dog, or aiming for competition success, we’re here to support you every step of the way. All in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Cold Game Training Day: Saturday 17th October 2026
The club will be hosting a colf game training day on the 17th October 2026 at our training ground.
This training day provides a full introduction into getting your dog comfortable to picking up feather and then birds. For dogs that have picked up birds before this is a great opportunity to brush up.
You don’t have to be planning to take your dog picking up on a shoot to benefit from this training. More details can be found on our events page.
We’ll be starting at 10am with the aim to finish around 2pm, free tea and coffee available throughout the day.
You can pay on the day with cash or card but you must register via the app or contact Allan on 07525 220 582 or [email protected]
Cost: £45 per dog
This training is not suitable for puppies.
Sunday Training: 18th October 2026
This Sunday we will be continuing with the earlier class times this week:
- 09:00 to 10:00 Puppies
- 10:45 to 11:45 Juniors and Beginners
- 12:30 to 13:30 Intermediate and Advanced
Within each class we focus on the training needs of each breed – retrievers, spaniels & hunt point retrievers.
Each session is £25 per dog, payable on the day via cash or card.
These will be held at our training ground on Malthouse Lane which is along the Basingstoke Road ///arrived.goodnight.chuckle.
Dogs aged six months and older must undergo a personalised assessment before joining these classes. This step is essential to ensure that both you and your dog begin the training at a suitable level, allowing you to get the most out of these classes.

Looking for a more structured approach? Our Tiered Training Program covers all aspects of gundog training and is suitable for dogs aged 6 months and over.
One-to-One Training
Need targeted support? Whether you’re working through a challenge or fine-tuning advanced skills, our one-to-one sessions offer personalised guidance from our experienced trainers.
Events & Working Tests
We run special training days and working tests throughout the year. A perfect way to learn something new or put your skills to the test and enjoy the day with fellow handlers.
