Hi everyone,

I've had a few discussions with people over the past few months about the problems of insuring your working dog with the usual insurance companies such as more than, sainsburys, direct line etc. A lot of the policies are for domestic dogs only and do not cover your dog if he is working in the field and suffers an injury.

After a recent discussion with a Countryside Alliance representative at a local Country Fair it turns out that they offer an insurance for working dogs which is underwritten by their financial services company. You don't have to be a member of the Countryside Alliance and it is a very resonable £5.75 per a month.

If anyone is interested here is the link: http://www.countryside-alliance.org.uk/members-&-supporters/insurance-services/gundog-insurance/ . I hope this helps as I know a few people such as myself are always worried about what could happen out in the field to our best pals, so hopefully this will give some reassurance that they are covered.

All the best,

Tom

Hi Tom

Thanks for that, it is about time someone did something for working dogs.

Everyone, please ensure you check the policy as this one doesnt cover for illness and general accidents.  However, It may be a good a good one t have in conjunction with another more basic general policy.

I have all of mine covered with E and L (equine and livestock), have just scanned the policy and can't see an exclusion for working dogs, but I will ring and check with them.
