My colleague has to give up her Basset Hound as they have young children and the dog bites them. They are gutted to give him away, but can't see other option. He's been to puppy school, up to date with all injections and has been done.

Aw, good luck with finding him a home. Is it just over zealouseness on the pups part ?

Any more details? We could send out a plea on our FB to friends only - it's a bad time of year to advertise pups/ dogs as some people will think "Ah, nice Christmas Presi" but come the new year could possibly get fed up with a young dog :(

Would the breeder not take it back for re homing? or try the basset hound breed club rescue, can they not teach the children to leave the dog alone and give the dog some child free area? if theyve been to puppy school cant the trainer give them some advice? seems a shame as im sure it would settle in the end with the right help and training.

They've had three different dog whisperers in. When they got him, the breeder said he would take it back if anything happens, but now won't. The youngest child is only 3 so i kind of understand that they worry for child's safety. Theyhad wanted a dog for a long time and it breaks their heart. I've seen the bruises on mum and they are really bad...
