Archie ended up having an anaesthetic today to explore the violent head shaking we woke up to this morning. Ah, grass seed we thought .... but to quote "His ears are full of debris & crap". Lovely !

After a lot of 'hoovering out' we brought him home, feeling very groggy & wobbly. Later in the evening he deposited a rather painful looking twig poo, then a pile of bloody mass, then lots of mucus, jelly & lining. Ewwwww, sorry if you're eating ! He was obviously in pain around the back end, so, a mad dash to 'Vets Now' at 11.30pm ensued. The stress of today's activities had brought on a severe attack of colitis.

I've not long gt back (1am) & Archie is now fast asleep and very much more comfortable after morphine & anti-spasm injections. My little man really has been throught the mill today.

Thank goodness for insurance & lovely Vets :)

How frightening and worrying for you. It's like a nightmare when our pets are in pain. We had a nice day planned today, a rare day of things we wanted to do as apose to what we have to do, but during an early morning walk with the pack, 12 in total, one of our bitches emerged from the bushes screaming and howling, covered in masses of wasps, the other dogs raced over to see what fuss was about, so more casualties, so another spur of the moment desperate trip to vets for 3 of them!, not as awful as your poor experience but still, that will teach me that planning anything often is a mistake!! Wouldn't have it any other way though, a life without at least one dog, is an empty one! Hope he makes a full recovery. Angie

Blimey, that sounds pretty awful. Must have been very scary for all of you :(

Pesky wasps, Archie sniffed a wasp up his nose last year, that was pretty traumatic, never seen or heard sneezes like it. Another aneasthetic !!

He's just started to perk up this afternoon, we are looking after a friends young Sprocker for a week so he's desperate to play but we're keeping him quiet today.

I hope your gang are OK

Ah, thankyou !  Archie is feeling a lot brighter, still not himself but he's eaten a scarmbled egg and little bit of pasta tonight. He's asleep on my feet at the moment, my very own hot water bottle :D
