Hi all,

I know that there is no winter WBGC training, and I totally understand why.

But for me, with a 16-month old pup who is not ready to start working this season, I'm not prepared to just hang up my boots completely over the winter.

I have private 1-2-1 lessons with a great trainer, but they're not cheap and they're not the same as group classes.

What kind of training is everyone else doing over the winter?

Also, is anyone else beating on a shoot this winter?

I am LOVING seeing the older, fully trained dogs doing their thing and I am really looking forward to Vegas being able to come out on the shoot next winter. I am going to try taking my older dog, Ozzie, on the shoot tomorrow and see if he enjoys beating. He'll never be a picking up dog, but he's steady and whistle trained, so perhaps he might take to beating after all!

Am really missing monthly training, anyone else?

I'm hoping to restart training Koda shortly now her maternity duties are over - She is stir crazy!!

Also looking forward to taking the pups to training in March - need to talk to Ali but I'd like to take them on alternate weeks/mths if that would be ok with her.

Well, I now have my hands full - it seems Ozzie absolutely loves beating, so now I have to do training with him as well!

Neither has had much the past few weeks, what with Christmas and then all the snow, so I am looking forward to this weekend, when I can get cracking again on both dogs.

I can't wait for group classes to start up again :)
