Hello,  just wondered if someone can clear something up for me.  To do the Gundog graded tests do you need to be registered with The Gundog Club and do you just do it through them or can it be done through WBGC as we became a members yesterday at training and definately want to do the grades.

Hi Vicki,

You will need to register with the Gundog Club, it is a once only payment to register the dog for life and they will send you a certificate of registration, I think it's about £14 or £15.  When it comes to the graded test, last time Ali sent an email to everyone asking if they were interested and then sent out the information and entry forms to those that were, to be completed and sent back to her with the appropriate payment.

I would definitely say go for it where the graded tests are concerned, I was over the moon when Koda passed hers!  Fingers crossed that we'll be able to take Grade 2 in September!

Regards

Thank you very much Debbie.  Id like to take grade 1 with Holly in september really so will wait for the info.

Will register now with the gundog club.  Also did you just do all the training for it with WBGC as was reading they do courses too with the Gundog club? But id prefer to do all the training with the WB.

Its all very confusing this starting out malarky!

Well done to Koda.  I cant believe how proud i get when either of the dogs do something good so def think the grades are for us, Holly anyway.

Thanks again

Vicki

Hi Vicki

I did all my training with WBGC, I did the normal monthly lesson, then went home and practised everything that we were taught in class.  So no it's not necessary to go on any other courses, you just need to put in the hard work between now and the 19th Sept :D  Ali has all the information on the graded tests at the registration table each month, so you can find out what is required and work towards it.

However I know 4 weeks before the last graded tests Ali had enough people interested in doing extra classes, so she put on extra lessons one evening a week so it would probably be an idea to ask her if this will be happening again.  I would imagine that it depends very much on how many people are interested in doing extra lessons this time round though.

Regards

Debbie

The 4 weeks of training with Ali is great.  I can totally recommend it.  It really helped me to focus and has made me up my game.
